The Caring Touch
Food Drive
Feeding the Vulnerable — One Household at a Time
Because no family should have to choose between feeding their children today and keeping them together tomorrow.
The Caring Touch Food Drive is a structured, dignity-centred outreach program that delivers food packages directly to vulnerable households in the communities surrounding the Foundation’s operations. It is a response to one of the most immediate and devastating drivers of child vulnerability in Nigeria: hunger. When a family cannot feed its children, it loses dignity, stability, and hope — and children lose safety. The Food Drive exists to interrupt that cycle with something concrete, warm, and human: a box of food at the door and the embodied message that someone cares.
What separates a great Food Drive from a routine charity distribution is intentionality. Every household served through this program is a known, documented household — identified through community mapping, referral relationships, and case management. Food is not dropped randomly; it is delivered with dignity, accompanied by relationship, and tracked as part of a broader intervention. This ensures that food security becomes a bridge to deeper family support — not merely an isolated act of charity, but the beginning of an ongoing connection between Caring Touch and the communities it serves.
“Hunger does not wait for a crisis to be declared. For the families we serve, it is already here — pressing against them daily. We go to them with food, with dignity, and with the message that they have not been forgotten.”
Each package is assembled to provide meaningful nutritional support for a household over a defined period. Core items include staple grains, protein sources, cooking oil, salt, and — where supply allows — fresh and fortified produce. Packages are sized and composed for the household profile.
Food is delivered directly to households, or through small community collection points — never in large, impersonal crowd distributions that erode human dignity. Every family is received as a family, addressed by name, and treated with the respect owed to every person.
Each package includes practical materials — hygiene guidance, nutrition tips, parenting encouragement cards, and information about Caring Touch programs available to the household. The box opens a door; the materials inside invite families to walk through it.
Households identified as having children in urgent need are referred to the Foundation's Ark shelter assessment process. The Food Drive functions as a trusted front-line community presence — seeing need early and connecting families to deeper care before crises escalate into irreversible harm.
Partner With Us & Become a Sponsor
The Caring Touch Food Drive runs on the generosity of individuals, businesses, and organisations who understand that a fed child is a child who can learn, grow, and dream. Every sponsor directly determines how many families receive a delivery — and every sponsor is acknowledged in impact reports and across Foundation platforms.
We welcome food suppliers, logistics companies, churches, civic organisations, and corporate CSR programs as operational and financial partners. Whether you contribute funding, food supplies, vehicles, or volunteer time, your partnership reaches a family that would otherwise go without.

We do not merely drop food. We show up — as people, as neighbours, as the Foundation that sees every family as a family. The food opens the door. The relationship changes the story.
